Marquees are notoriously difficult to heat effectively.
They have no thermal mass and because the walls and
roof are so thin they have a chronic u-value. The conventional
way to heat a marquee is with a blown air system, but
the main drawback of heating a marquee with a blower
is that the warmed air escapes almost immediately. Other
drawbacks are that the blowers are usually noisy and
they can produce unpleasant fumes.
Enter SunSwitch - no noise, no smell, fabulously
comfortable heart, no warm-up time - and a very useable
light output. SunSwitch heaters emits short wavelength
infra-red, like the sun, which does not waste energy
trying to heat the air. It passes through the air to
heat anything within its warm zone. With SunSwitch,
instead of pumping warm air in at one or two points,
the marquee should be divided into comfort zones..
