Unless you have the constitution of a penguin you will
probably want some form of heating in your gymnasium
or personal Dojo. Muscle strains are all too common
when you start to work out before getting properly warmed
up.
But there are two problems. Firstly, most forms of
heating are expensive - if you warm the air, for example
with radiators, the warm air will rise to the ceiling
where it is of little use to occupants. Furthermore,
if such buildings are used only intermittently, it can
take hours or even days to take the chill off. Secondly,
warming the air may not be what you actually want, because
it is much harder to exercise when the air temperature
is high, and you end up with a stuffy, sweaty atmosphere.
The solution is to install SunSwitch. It combines instant
dry heat with low, calculable running costs, and without
warming the air.
Where a convection system, such as a radiator circuit,
already exists, it may be viable to still use it for
background, low-level heating (e.g. frost and damp protection).
SunSwitch can be added for comfort heating when the
building is occupied. This will enable the existing
system to operate with greater energy efficiency, while
providing the added luxury and economy of short wavelength
infra-red.
In all cases we recommend
VR1 voltage regulators are used so the heat output
of SunSwitch heaters can be adjusted to any level.
