Heater choice
All of the heaters we sell for use on balconies are safe for year round use outdoors. Please note that not all garden heaters advertised on other websites for outdoor use are electrically safe outdoors! You could put yourself at risk if you do not use weathersafe heaters outdoors.
To help you choose the right heater we have included guideline figures for mounting heights, together with the size of the area they will heat.
Running costs
If you know the unit price of your electricity (shown on your electricity bill) it, e.g. 7.5 pence per kilowatt hour) it is very easy to calculate the hourly running costs. Simply add up the total kilowatts of all of the heaters to be installed, and then multiply this by the unit price N.B. you can reduce this further by installing voltage regulators, such as SunSwitch Comfort Controllers.
Are you by the sea?
If you are located on the coast, it is advisable to make sure that the heater you select for your balcony will resist the corrosive effects of salt air. Not many do! We are pleased to advise on this and can even adapt some heaters with stainless steel fittings to maximise their operating life. Please telephone for advice.
